As an expression of their interest in politics and positive social change, the older Pono children are planning to hold a protest on November 17th at 3:30pm, at the Frederick Douglass Circle on 110th Street and Central Park North. All children and families are welcome to join the protest. Please feel free to share the attached flyer on social media.

For almost a year now, the older children have been working on a project to learn their peers’ thoughts, hopes, and concerns about the current presidency. They created a survey, which has been taken by more than 400 third and fourth graders in Harlem. The Pono students analyzed the data and presented the results at the AERO conference this past August. Last week they spoke about their project to students at Thurgood Marshall Lower Academy, one of the schools that participated in the survey. The Pono students are also planning to publish the results of the survey.
