The Roman Empire, with Dr. Young Richard Kim
The Roman Empire, with Dr. Young Richard Kim
The Romans built the Colosseum, roads, and temples that still stand today, and they also established traditions that still impact the world today – law, government, education. What made them so successful? What were their failures? This class will explore the highlights and lowlights of the Roman Empire.
Dr. Young Richard Kim is associate professor of Classics and Mediterranean Studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He first learned about Greek mythology in fourth grade, and ever since then, he has been fascinated by the ancient Mediterranean world of the Greeks and the Romans.
