This class will feature live insects and spiders, and interactive activities to capture your child’s attention. We will be learning about insects’ diverse forms and ways of life, and how important they are to humans.

Victoria Long is trained in medical laboratory science, and from a young age has had a fascination with spiders and other arthropods. At four years old, she loved to dig through the grass and find little friends on six and eight legs. For three years and counting, she has been volunteering in the Invertebrate Division of the American Museum of Natural History and gets to work hands-on with scorpions, spiders, cockroaches, praying mantises, and more. In this class, she will share the things that made her fall in love with invertebrates.
