Mathematizing with Deema Kahwash

Mathematizing with Deema Kahwash

$20.00

Let’s explore the world using math! This class will focus on introducing students to Algebra using real-life examples. As mathematicians, we will model the world using stories, pictures, graphs, equations, and variables. We will also see how math can be used as a tool to understand other subjects, and we will finally answer every math student’s question: “When am I ever going to use this?” Math can seem intimidating but have no fear; in this class, we’ll approach it with fun and curiosity.

Deema Kahwash is a rising senior at George Washington University studying pure mathematics and STEM education. She's known she wanted to be a math teacher since she was in the fifth grade. One of her favorite summers was spent interning at Pono in 2018, teaching ballet and math. Her favorite animal is the okapi and she loves the smell of patchouli. You can find her completing the NYTimes Daily Mini Crossword every morning.
