Fashion Design Mentorship at Art to Ware, with Lesley Ware
Students will spend four days at Art to Ware, a sustainable fashion pop-up founded by author Lesley Ware. Over the course of their mentorship, students will explore the intersection between sustainable fashion, art, and visual merchandising. They will learn how to come up with a fashion concept, how to sew by hand and machine, how to style a look, and how to execute an exhibit within a given timeframe and budget. At the end of the mentorship, students will have created several one-of-kind wearable items that will be on display in the windows of Art to Ware at the Port Authority Bus terminal in Times Square from May 13th to 23rd!
Ages: 11 to 15
Dates: Monday, 5/9/2022; Tuesday, 5/10/2022; Wednesday, 5/11/2022; and, Friday 5/13/2022
Time: 10 am - 3 pm
Drop-off & Pick-up: Grand Central Terminal

5/9 Challenge presented / brainstorming / budget - students will sketch, moldboard, and come with a plan (Lesley)

5/13 Installation of window display and special guest, fashion designer Parron Allen (Lesley and Parron)
